Projekt Tianii Schule
Erneuerung einer Schule in einem afrikanischen Dorf in Liberia
Lack of access to education in Liberia results in a generally very low level of education and is therefore one of the country’s core problems. Although school attendance is compulsory for children, only about 38 percent are enrolled in school, and among adults, only about 48 percent can read and write.
This was mainly due to a protracted civil war from 1998 to 2003, during which many schools and other educational institutions were destroyed. Further, access to education was curtailed by an Ebola outbreak in 2014, as a result of which many children were never enrolled in school.
To address this issue, We love Africa e.V. was founded with the mission of bringing knowledge to the most remote places in the world.
Our first project aims to renovate and expand a school in the small village of Tiene, located about 100 km from the capital Monrovia.
The existing school does not offer enough space for the approximately 400 students and is to be rebuilt, not least because of its dilapidation.
This is exactly where you can help us! The costs for the new construction of the school are as follows:
– Shell: 251.600 $
– Furnishings: 51.900 $
– Sports facility: $4,000
– Fencing: 10.000 $
To ensure the proper implementation of the construction, at least one project manager will always be on site. In addition, we will also take care of teaching in the school after its construction, personally.
In March 2021, our CEO traveled to Liberia and visited the school himself. He will be the director there from October 2021. In this way, we can ensure that every donation really reaches its destination.
In total, we need US$ 317,500 to implement this project.
A more detailed list of the costs can be found here.
